Methatrexate injection

Hi been on methatrexate for 12 mth and sometimes get side effects generally fealing crap picked up the next prescription this morning and th pharmacist told me to ask for injection as side effects are less . anybody with experience of this ? Dose it make a difference

Hi I started the injectins few months ago. For me personally I was very sick with the tablets that's also why i was told to go on injections as less side effects.

I get sick a little bit but alot less than I did before.

I find the injections fine to do to myself. But Bit nervous the first time but now fine.

If you think it would be better for you try it. You can always change back if of its worse

I don't know if it has to be by everyone but i have to inject in my stomach. That's where was told to do it. I think I watched a youtube video where someone said they did it in their leg.

The one I have is a pre-filled syringe.

I also changed from tablets to injection because of terrible nausea. I still have a metallic taste, slight nausea and overwhelming tiredness the following day, but I do my injection on a Saturday morning and Sunday I spend most of the day in bed sleeping. A lot better than being on the pills. Good luck and hope you are able to change. x
