I too get the pains you described and, to be honest, thought the same as you in relation to kidneys however, when I checked it out with my doctor he told me it related to my on going problem with pleurisy linked to my SLE.
He referred me for X-Rays and a CT scan, all of which confirmed his original diagnosis.
It is well worth getting checked out but, those of us who have lived with lupus for a long time, have so many odd aches and pains in unrelated places and at odd times, that over time you tend to become more cool about the new ones and tend to worry less. Try not to worry too much but, to put your mind at rest, get it checked out.
Hope this helps....Take care.
Get it checked out. Ive had a variety of back/ rib pain over the years, which have turned out to be pleurisy (hurt when breathing out), kidneys also hurt when urinating, rib cartilage problems hurt all the time breathing. Dont leave it.
Thank you. It has stopped as quick as it arrived. Nothing today but my usual aching muscles.
By chance I have an OPA next week. Usually they coincide with good times and I have nothing to say. I will mention it but there will probably be no symptoms by then, as always. 😌
