Hi, I've just been taken off of Azathioprine due to blood work. I've been on it since June last year. Just wondering how long it takes to come out of your system? I have felt awful on the entire time I was on them. :)

Hi mantha ,

I have had a look at various sources of information but I'm afraid I cannot find an answer for you. Azathioprine usually takes about six weeks to start working and usually takes about three months (but up to six months in some people) to achieve the full effects. I would guess that it could take up to a similar amount of time to fully withdraw from the system, but I am afraid I do not know this as a fact. Could you ask your doctor or pharmacist?
