Help: Hi I'm Ruth and I suffer from migraines,mouth... - LUPUS UK
Help
I have mouth sores from time to time. Stress.... Vit c and b 12. Take them everyday. I use natural tears for dry eye. Helps a little.
I have similar symptoms. Naturas advice helps me too. Drinking as much as i can manage helps my migraines (coconut water seems to really soothe and hydrate). I avoid artificial sweeteners. Eating little and often also helps. I also rotate my pain relief. Sometimes nothing helps and preventing the headaches just make them worse until I have a full blown episode. My current meds of choice are buscopan (to help absorb painkillers) and cocodamol which knocks me out. If I'm not home I'll take paracetamol and up uptown together. Randomly I find that a dose of protein (even a Big Mac) can head off a migraine.
Hi Ruth,
Who diagnosed you with fibromyalgia? Was it your GP or a rheumatologist? Do you know if you have had any blood tests for lupus or other autoimmune conditions? If you are not satisfied with your current diagnosis then you can ask your GP to refer you for a second opinion. You could ask to be referred to a rheumatologist who specialises in lupus. If you are in the UK and let me know what area you live in, I can provide you with information about any lupus specialists who may be nearby?
If you would like more information about lupus and how it is diagnosed, we have a free pack which you can request or download from our website here - lupusuk.org.uk/request-info...
There are some things there that seem inconsistent with fibromyalgia. I agree that another opinion would be good.
