Yesterday I was seen by my nice gp whos been helping me out with getting the right diagnoses/help. I took in peace of paper with all the symptoms I had, had over the past three months, that me and the lovely woman I see at uni had write up. The gp asked if it was for him in which I said well yes and for me to remember everything I need to mention too you. I thanked him for the help he was giving but then went on to explain how the hospital where not helping me which is why i was here.

He was very lovely throughout the whole appointment. He write everything on the peace of paper down on his computer in the form of a letter whilst I explained to him how some of them had effected me. He suggested sending me to bristol but I recommend bath as they have specialists. We went with bath in the end as I said with potentially having lupus I want my second opinion to be with someone who is a specialist.

So Im hopefully now going to get the treatment and help I feel I deserve by someone who should be able help me. If they can't they should at least be able to point me in the right direction instead of saying they cant help like my local hospital have. I dont know how long it will take for this whole second opinion appointment thing to go through but i'm hopping it will be over the summer. As I want to be able to go into my third year of Uni with a diagnoses, so they will be able to help me too.

Also just wondering has anyone in this group been seen by the team at bath and if so how they helped you? Just so I get a rough idea of what to expect.

I'm sure others will have info for you about Bath, but I just want to say well done to you for going to the GP and being able to get through to him all your symptoms in such a clear way. As to the GP - well, I think we'd all want one like that. He needs a gold star.

I'm hoping that you get your appointment soon, and that all goes well.

Thanks. That gp really desever a gold star as he is the only doctor in the surgery that hasn't turned me away. The rest gave up when they didnt know what to do. So i dont really know what i would do without this lovely one.
