Hi Misty
Coincidentaly my hubby is on that for pain. He has arthritic pain and he has osteoporosis. A month ago he felt 160. This week, he is back to pottering around with greater mobility. He does not seem to have any side effects.
Sorry I can't speak of personal experience, but my husband is a much happier bunny than he was.
Hope it helps.
Best wishes

Hi Footygirl
Thanks for your very helpful and heartening reply. So pleased your husband has been greatly helped by Deloxitene and I hope it lasts a long time for him!. Pain saps everything doesn't it?. Hope your doing well too?. X
Hi Misty. I took this drug for five months over the winter for my small fiber neuropathy. Unfortunately it coincided with a worsening in symptoms which turn out or have been largely unrelated but I blamed the duloxetine and came off it. All I would say is that it didn't actually cause any side effects at all, helped take the edge off some of the nerve pain and cheered me up a bit as it's an antidepressant. However getting off it was hellish so if you stop you would be well advised to wean off it in much the same way as you would steroids. If I'd been told this by my GP it might have saved about a month of nasty backlash. I did get off it though by emptying the capsules a little more each day and that worked out just fine as long as you don't try and stop suddenly as my GP seemed to think I could. Txx
Hi Twitchy
Thank you for your experience of Deloxitene and good advice about weaning off it gradually!. I do sometimes think GP's underestimate the power of some of these drugs. I'm glad it helped the pain because that's what I need badly!. Have you taken Amitriptyline with it?. This is also what my Pain Consultant advocates but they're two similar drugs and seems too much. Will be talking to GP on Friday about it!. How are you doing?. I hope your recovery is going well and Aza is still ok, could be starting to work by now!. X
Ach well I posted on NRAS about what happened to me yesterday after Aza. Found out the hard way that I can tolerate morphine (jab in bum from GP!)
Will post later if I survive the next attempt. Hoping removal of gallbladder might change my tolerance levels for these drugs.
I took amitriptyline For 3 years but started getting severe heart palpitations which stopped when I stopped the ami. Gaberpentin floored me. Duloxetine was fine apart from severe drying of mouth at first.
I'm no good with drugs at all Misty so please don't go by me too much! X
