Just started methotrexate with my first dose don't know how I feel

I think I feel sick and dizzy is this normal after only one dose

Yes.A lot of people take it at night, so the won't feel the side effects and before two days when you can be a little extra tired. Are you taking folic acid. It can reduce the side effects, but discuss that with your doc. It also can take some time to work. For me it was amazing to be completely out of pain for the first time in thirty years, but the fatigue was too bad for me to continue it.

Yes I am taking folic acid but I didn't think it would hit me after one dose thanks

For me I had fewer side effects the longer I took it as far as nausea. The fatigue that was what was unacceptable to me.

Hi Diane

Are you taking folic acid each day except the day that you take the Methotrexate dose?. Hope it soon settles for you and you get the benefits. X

Hi Diane-I do remember feeling awful for the first couple of weeks on Methotrexate-but hang in there it does get better with time. I have been taking it now for 8 years and on "drug day" still feel not quite myself but by the next day I feel fine. The overall benefits far out way the minimal side effects in the end, I wouldn't be without it

I take it late afternoon. I can feel wiped out on and off over the next 48 hours. I also had bad nightmares when I first started taking it and it has happened each time the dose was increased. I have been better since taking it but there is still room for further improvement. I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks feel better today not sick and have eaten todays but still feel funny
