Nerve pain

Upper arms in pain when ever use my shoulders doc gave me gagpentin I also take morphine but don't help

I am just getting over that and can tell you the pain is like nothing else I have had before. I was crying with it. My rheumy sent me to physio and I couldn't believe it? After quite a few weeks of excersis (sorry but I can't spell anymore) which did not work we found a one that did,simple shoulder rolls and neck tilts and stretches. Try these first gently then go to physio. Much quicker appointment if you go through rheumy. Hope you feel better soon lizzyhannah

Hi I go to a pain clinic and have been given medication which specifically helps with neuropathic pain (nerve pain) it is also used as an anti depresant so if you can get it you will be monitored closely, it is called Imipramine, and I have found that when I take morphine I have so many other side effects that I end up taking so many other things and I have an allergy to off the shelf pain killers. Gabapentin is something that I have taken in the past for controlling my fits but had side effects so came off it but the Imipramine has not given me any side effects and I only need a small dose for it to be effective.

I hope you have a sympathetic doctor who is prepared to let you give this a try, good luck
