I HAVE A NUMBER OF SYMPTONS WHICH INDICATE STATIN INDUCED LUPUS. IF I STOP STATINS HOW LONG BEFORE SYMPTONS DISAPPEAR?

Symptons include : circular rash on leg, buttock, hip,and face. I also have anti ds dna antibodies in my blood. Finally I have light sensitivity and exhaustion.

Not usual for statins to cause drug induced lupus - are you sure the symptoms aren't unrelated? What is your doctor saying?

For what it's worth: have your drs considered dermatomyosotis as part of your diagnostic mix? As i understand it, there is significant consensus amongst some researchers that statins are contraindicated for anyone with a suspicion of this condition....my drs suspect dermatomyosotis in my case and I am advised to avoid statins.

I am on ramopril and I have a feeling that sle and this drug are not best friends

This side effect is indicated on the notes that come in the statin box. It is however very rare. Still waiting a diagnosis from dermatologist but I am pretty sure what it will be
