Photos of our symptoms

I have started taking pictures of proof to show doctors as the symptoms don't always come at the same time.

Just thought it would be good if we could upload pictures on here to compare? What do you think?

Definatly, I do. Only thing is its on my phone so if anyone looked at my pictures. Mmmmmm might be funny. Lol

You cant get out of the door when you are bad, so outsiders never see you at your worst.

But if its hidden it didnt happen and you must be faking.

I have often taken photos but its depressing to look at them. When you really cant believe you have been so rough. And it doesnt take much. Often the day after you have appeared so well.

I take pictures with my phone because I know I will have it with me at appointments. Last flare I started telling what had happened and he started getting that look - so I said "I have picture". He was happy and I didn't have tp explain any more.

I always take photos of swollen joints, malar rashes etc on my mobile and show my GP. I feel it gives proof to what you are saying as they never see you at your worst. It makes your point more clearly.

I too have shown the consultant a picture of the malar rash on my face, as it wsa a grey wet day when I saw them and my face was only slightly red, but the picture clearly shows the full extent.

A good idea.

Hi I too take pics for my phone, eg rashes on neck and malar rash. I also show inflammed joints etc. I keep a diary and write daily symptoms and record flares and for how long they last. The consultant always says that it is helpful. I guess it eases their work for the write up to the GP plus they then know whether to reduce or increase meds etc. If I didn;t do this I would forget at appointments and probably if I was having a good day just minimise symptoms.

Hi, I also take pictures on my mobile. I always have a flare of the malar rash and urticarial vasculitis which flares up so bad that I have to wear very lose clothing. I think it is a good idea to show some of the pictures here. It helps to understand the symptoms. It is really hard to tell a GP about something which is not that inflammed cause at times you get an appointment see the GP for the next week and when the day comes the infammation will have gone down! Only dark patches to show! So a picture will show what it will look like when flared up. Thanks for the idea. Take care x
