Hello JJKANE

I was found to have mega cholesterol and tryglycerides over 10 years ago. To add to this I have high CK (CPK) which means that I cannot tolerate statins.

I had a lot of heart tests which show no problem at all. I have also taken part in a study which involved looking inside my bracheal artery ~ this showed no thrombosis or atherosclerosis.

Dont jump to any conclusions, it seems that combined hyperlypidamea is less risky than simple high cholesterol. In theory Tryglycerides over 6.5 puts you at immediate risk of pancreatitus~ which cant be good, but mine are rarely below that number and It has never given me any gip ever.

See your doc and if need be get a referral to Guys, but don't second guess what the future holds.

What are you numbers, and do you have any other risk factors or history.

My Tryglycerides hit 12 recently which did cause a bit of a panic. But that is low compared to the record 27 they hit about 10 years ago. Cholesterol at that time was 11.9. I am quite slender and in reasonable shape despite Lupus, sjogrens etc.

Hi i get crushing chest pain too and it goes right through to my back especially when lying down. Ive seen a heart specialist and have regular echocardiograms and chest CT and so far my cardiologist has seen no cause for concern, although my last echo showed some high pressure which freaked me out but consultant wasn't concerned when further tests were ok. Ive now got another echo next week as i was plagued all summer with chest pains so im praying everything is still ok. So far no cause for chest pains has turned up other than its symptomatic of SLE & MCTD with lung involvement, hope thats all i still worry, Im only 31. Its good a heart specialist is going to assess you - better to get it checked, hope all goes well x.
