Scarred!

Don't post very often as I feel I'm not so badly off with my lupus as others. However, today have had a skin biopsy on my face to determine if I have discoid lupus as well as sle. Looks horrible with 6 stitches and a permanent scar. May be should have just put up with the rashes and flares :-(

Oh my gosh that's a lot of stitches to have after a biopsy. I only had two when I had my biopsy done. Did they explain why they had to take so much away? So sorry that you've had to go through this but thinking of you xxxx

Thanks. The doc was really nice and the procedure went ok but kind of wishing I hadn't bothered. Still maybe the scar won't be too bad - guess others have far worse things to deal with.

I had 2 biopsies taken 2 years ago on my upper arm, 3 or 4 stitches in each, can no longer see where it was done.Surprised they took one from your face though, sure it will heal quickly and leave no scar. Did it help with your diagnosis and treatment ?

Got to wait a few weeks for results. She said more stitches in facial biopsy as it bleeds more easily.

I remember when i had my biopsy in my back and was absolutely petrified so I am sorry that you have had to have it on your face.

You may not get a prominent scar and I am told things like bio oil and aloe Vera can help, its defiantly worth looking in to.

If you do have a scar where about is it and can it be hidden with a fringe or bangs? I have also seen some really good camouflage make up for scars and burns

Not what you're looking for?
