Dla waiting game...

I've been waiting over 3 months for a decision about my dla. They have written to my rheumatologist and my GP.

Is this delay and requests from my doctors a positive thing? I'm so stressed. The bills are mounting.

Anyone have similar problems? Xx

This is good news at least you know they are dealing with your case and is normal for it to take some time, the bonus is that they haven't turned you down and are collecting the relevant information regarding your case. If they decide you are entitled you get your money backdated to when you first applied, so fingers crossed you will be able to treat yourself to something special Let us know how you get on, l am on full rate mobility and middle rate care. Yes same as the answer above its good there contacting the right people, you will get it all back dated if you are entitled to get it, I am on high rate mobility & middle care this was my renewal last may but its now changed to PIP i was told every one will be retested even though i have been awarded this for life!But they will not look at my case until 2015 so a bit of breathing space but its so frustrating, Its crazy they have to keep going over and over the same old thing even though it states LIFE, Its a waste of money especially when all the medical evidence is in front of them.

you can claim esa which i am claiming. when you appeal the DWP don't tell you that they cut all benefits off including housing benefit and everything that goes with it. I have to get a sickness note from my doctor. The first one i had was for 3 months and then i got the last one for 1 month which my doctor said he wouldn't give me anymore. I then had a letter from the appeals committee saying that it would be forty weeks until my appeal would be heard and would i still like to appeal, which i said yes. But i don't know what will happen if i don't get another sick note from my doctor. I would be in real trouble.
