Recommendation and your views please ..........................................................

Am shortly due to go back to my rheumy and try methotrexate but am reluctant to as I do like a few glasses of wine each night! Can you recommend any other drug???????????

Have looked at other med's Cellcept, Cytoxan, Imuran, lefunomide etc but would really appreciate your views and opinions.

I really do not want to have another course of steroids they make me feel poorly, so want to go to my Rheumy with something else in mind.

Hi Beckybooboo, i would never advise anyone to not listen to Dr advice, just want to let you know that i am on Methx (9mg a week) and have been for about 6 months, i have a few (sometimes many lol) voddie and cokes at the weekend and have felt no side effects, I must state that not everyone will be the same so hope you get more comments on this so you can make a decision

Hi Beckybooboo,

I take Cellcept and am fine to have a few vinos at the w/e. Also my friend is on methx and she too is known to have the odd glass of wine with out any ill effects. I think provided you rest accordingly the next day ect you should be fine, it does rather depend on your own body though. My Rheumy was rather encouraging on having as much as a "normal" life as possible and I think that should include having a few wines now and again Good luck with your research.

Me again, just to respond further. I would highly recommend Celcept, it has changed my life since taking it and the side effects are minimal. I think there are some tags on Celcept so have a look, as far as I recall most people responded positively.

I'm on Imuran (aka Azathioprin) and have a couple of glasses of red wine a couple of times a week with no ill effects
