Hi everyone I have been diagnosed with lupus, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis... everything else that comes with that. With that said I realize that the body requires constant care and nurturing. I tried the pharmaceutical way and that just makes it worse. Now I do the Loving way. I love my body and appreciate the use of it to experience me in this life. I listen to the aches and pains as messages to what my body is asking for. Then give the necessary nutrition, exercise, peace and love it needs.

I feel I have been blessed with all, YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS BLESSED, so I will be able to help us all live a Great Life.

Keeping muscle firm and healthy is the best way to deal with spasms contraction and pain, when aggravated I apply heat and stretch muscle. Increase vitamin c and potassium.

You must keep the body properly nutrition. Noni is natural medicine from nature to assist as pain reliever, antiinflammatory, immune booster... But our bodies don't like processed, only natural from source. This can heal the skin attacks and disorders with its leaves. Heal bones quicker....

Stress and illness feed off each other. Eliminate stress you eliminate the illness. Definitely easier said then done but I am proof. Find someone you can talk to honestly about how your feeling and helps you get back to positive you when the attacks seem with no end in site. Remember life is great when living it!

Welcome to LUpus Patients Understanding & Support (LUPUS) at HealthUnlocked.

While I am glad you have been blessed, I must emphasise that each person must NOT take anything without taking advice from their own physician, GP, consultant. Just because something is "natural" does not mean this is safe to take. These "natural supplements" can have adverse effects, may interact with medication or may harm people. Noni, for example, may be toxic and potential liver damage has been observed. People with kidney disease and unexplained potassium elevation should be cautious in their use of noni because it may increase potassium levels

(Noni. Review of Natural Products. Facts & Comparisons [database online]. St. Louis, MO: Wolters Kluwer Health Inc; May 2011.)

The following is from NIH (The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine): nccam.nih.gov/health/noni

Introduction

Noni is an evergreen shrub or small tree that grows throughout the tropical regions of the Pacific Ocean, from Southeast Asia to Australia. Noni has a history of use as a topical preparation for joint pain and skin conditions. Today, noni fruit juice has folk uses as a general health tonic and for cancer and chronic conditions such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

The noni fruit is most commonly combined with other fruits (such as grape) to make juice. Preparations of the fruit and leaves are also available in capsules, tablets, and teas.

What the Science Says

In laboratory research, noni has shown antioxidant, immune-stimulating, and tumor-fighting properties. These results suggest that noni may warrant further study for conditions such as cancer and cardiovascular disease. However, noni has not been well studied in people for any health condition.

NCCAM-funded research includes a study on noni for cancer to determine its safety and potential effects on tumors and symptoms, as well as a laboratory study of noni’s effects on prostate cancer cells. The National Cancer Institute is funding preliminary research on noni for breast cancer prevention and treatment.

Top

Side Effects and Cautions

[I]oni is high in potassium. People who are on potassium-restricted diets because of kidney problems should avoid using noni.

Several noni juice manufacturers have received warnings from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration about making unsupported health claims.

Few side effects from noni have been reported, but its safety has not been adequately studied.

There have been reports of liver damage from using noni. It should be avoided if you have liver disease because it contains compounds that may make your disease worse.

Tell all your health care providers about any complementary health practices you use. Give them a full picture of what you do to manage your health. This will help ensure coordinated and safe care.

That's greats and remove stress and you are way on your way to relief. Cry if you have to cry, its your body detoxifying. Put positive energy in your path and find solutions to subdue negative, then implement. If you need support I am a tablet away. WE CAN DO IT!

Ros... I will agree with the noni info you presented. Especially if something can damage your organs, but there r other things that are natural that are not so harmful. And as always, I do my own Research and development since doctors don't know everything. Sometimes they don't help by pushing legal drugs on us that have adverse side effects as well. If something bothers me or hurts me, I stop taking it. I talk to nutritionists, I read a lot, if something is in 3 sources, it most likely is true. I read before I take something. I took vit e once and my legs hurt. Something as simple as vit e .It didn't work for me. So, I stopped taking it. If I take something, and I feel good, I keep taking it. There needs to be a LOT more research done for Lupus, but prescribing medicine with side effects like they advertise in America is absolutely negligent! Saying, "may cause this and that" is not an out for these irresponsible drug companies!!!!!! Sorry, this is my opinion......

Unique ...I live daily with stress. My entire life...grew up poor, and still struggling. Have been a negative person because of my upbringing, and trying my best to be more positive for me and my family. Hard some days, but work in progress. Thanks for support.

Most people would call most of my life horrific and call me insane because I still hold Love in my heart/soul. Those horrific events made me into wonderful me. I can identify with almost anything and assist another to make it through. The negative of another does not make me it only let's me know who I am not. I live by Higher power/Self/Others all equally important. Free will is to allow everyone the right to choose their path in life and if not our (no victims only volunteers) simply remove self.

Unique...I am sharing what I have experienced and know to be helpful. Not to make someone do what I believe. My family gets angry at me for sharing my natural treatments. They think I am trying to make them change something they r doing. I love them and want them to live a long, healthy life. I don't know why they get defensive and think I am controlling. Is is better to not say anything? Am I suppose to keep it to myself? I don't get it. If someone had knowledge to help me, I would want to hear it.

Do you think they may be worried about you so much that they think these alternative treatments may mean your stopping the "traditional" drugs and treatment and your not getting better?

Ros....but I am getting better using these natural treatments. I still have some problems, but trying to find the answers by research, talking to people and listening. It is very scary to rely on natural health. I take a leap of faith every time I try something. I believe the body can heal itself. It's just my philosophy.

Your beliefs are as valid as anyone's - just be cautious and perhaps include talking with your doctor? Be well! Ros

I did not know this. I read garlic kills bacteria, but didn't know it helped with cholesterol. I eat a lot of garlic. I will let my sister know. Do you take a garlic supplement? Or just incorporate into your diet daily? I will tell her to check with her doctor first. Thank you.

I only use natural never processed. I did the traditional treatment when I was fighting with pituitary cancer. I had one week left to live, when I was in psychologist office listening to her explaining this to my preteens (now mid 20s) and how they were going to have move to another state with an uncle they barely knew. I. Decided then to go completely natural, do what my soul knows to be correct. 6 months later I began to see major healing going on no more smelling like death or feeling that way. I was on the road to recovery. I stopped fighting and started living. No longer is the focus on stopping pain but understanding the messages from the body to it's needs. Remembering that the mind is the strongest part of self so keeping it positive and strong with constantly filling with knowledge is essential. Having your path only filled with positive people and respect that others believe different and limit time to no more than fifteen minutes around negative
