Hi there.

Has anyone attended an ATOS limited capability to work medical assessment? I am worried because although I have a lot of problems, I look really well (so I'm told frequently!). Would welcome any comments on how to get through this assessment.

I took a list of all my medical appts since day one, wrote all my symptoms down and medication, took letter from Lupus UK explaining the illness and leaflets. Took my brother with me to speak for me as l explained l struggled to remember things. They are watching you the minute you walk through the door to see how you walk and sit, will ask how you got there - can you sit comfortably and for how long, may ask if you watched something on telly the night before, which tells them how long you can concentrate. Take your time answering any questions and l would record the session on your phone if you can , but don't go alone.

Hi rafael,

There are Members who have been through this process and have some experience with patient advocacy since currently it seems the intention is to prove you do not need disability. It is important to describe what you are like on your worst day. Do not minimise anything.

Be well!
