Stage 4 nsclc, breathing fine no sign of shortness of breathe or pain, 5 weeks since chemo finished and now in constant fear of further symptoms/decline in health - really don't know what to expect? Oncologist has said mum will be under review every 3 months, should we expect further scans???

What to expect next after 4 rounds of chemo
Hi there.
It would be daft not to be concerned for the future. When I finished by chemo, I was the same - didn't know what was ahead. I had three-monthly checks then six-monthly, and all you can do is follow any advice given by the doctors or nurse specialist, and keep in touch with the nurse if you're concerned about anything. Don't be concerned about scans. They may well arrange them in the future, just to make sure everything's okay. I'm probably getting a ct scan in a couple of week, and that's 12 years on!! Best wishes,
Bill
I can understand how you feel, I am also stage 4 nsclc. You have to take everyday as it comes, and make the most of it. No one knows what the future holds, I am 13 months from diagnosis now an have scans every 6 months, initially I had checks every month but I'm now every 2 months. You have to be positive and hang on to hope.

Yes definitely you will and should have further scans as part of your ongoing health care. You will have CT scans and if necessary depending on the results of the CT scans , a PET scan if needed. It is natural to be concerned about the future, but try and focus on enjoying every single day and as your strength returns I am sure you will feel more positive. Get as much support as you can, ask your lung team if you are concerned just to set your mind at rest. We have a lung nurse assigned and they are wonderful with any questions. Good luck with your recovery.
Sorry - good luck with your Mum and her recovery.
