Hello Gymbuddie

We have a booklet which contains lots of useful information when traveling both at home and abroad, this link will take you directly to it, you will find a list of insurance companies on pages 32-34, there may be changes due to brexit and the pandemic. It is always worth getting a few quotes from different providers

Hope you find one that covers you and you enjoy your break away.

If there is anything you would like to discuss you can either email us at lungcancerhelp@roycastle.org or call our free phone nurse led helpline number on 0800 358 7200 Monday to Thursday 0900-1700 and Friday 0900-1600

insurancewith.com is a specialist insurer, which was set up by someone who had cancer and found difficultly in finding insurance. You can apply on line or call. If your case is complex they will call you back for an in-depth chat. I have stage 4 and am EGFR+ this company are used by many fellow sufferers. Hope you have a great holiday. X

always worth shopping around as lung cancer patients may be at different stages/health conditions/age, types of holiday differ (cruises can be more expensive for example), destinations differ in whether they send tourists to private hospitals (e.g. Spain). I've found different companies were cheaper or offered better cover for different destinations since I restarted travelling in 2016. I use price comparison sites like Payingtoomuch.com, medical travel compared as well as Saga (for over 50s), Get Going, Cloud cover, and others. Many insurers cover pre-existing conditions including cancer as some have multiple conditions - companies like AllClear and Staysure are some of these. Many patients find cover even if advanced stage with insurancewith.com or insurecancer.com

Some insurance companies have changed their stance/premiums since the pandemic and insurancewith.com and insurecancer.com both calculate premiums after speaking with the person by phone rather than using algorithms online. good luck.

Hi,I have found that Insurancewith seem to offer the most comprehensive policies and best value for money, their yearly policies are good but you do need to update your details on a regular basis to ensure your cover is sufficient. Good luck and have an amazing trip.

Definitely give insurewith a call they were really good when I called. My husband and I both have cancer, and it's worked out cheaper than our normal annual policy.
