Hello, I've had experience of Carboplatin but it was together with etoposide to treat a lung tumour. The first week kind of knocked me for six and I had to be aware of a low immune system the second week but after that recovery was swift and I quickly began to feel better than I had for a while, I was able to go out, excercise and as my appetite returned enjoy good food as well as finding new food that I once didn't like but now tasted amazing. Hope you're treatment goes well and any side effects minimal, remembering to take each day as it comes and you will be stronger than you think. Take care.
I've had three rounds of carboplatin and touch wood, haven't lost my hair. It hasn't even thinned that much. The first round made me very sick but I think that was a combination of too many painkillers and not taking the anti nausea meds properly.
I have had no nausea with subsequent rounds.
I suffer with fatigue from day 3 onwards. It lasts about 5 days and then my energy rises again.
I hope this info helps?
