Should I ask for a new assessment - second installment

Hi again everyone

My cancer nurse got me a new appointment with my oncologist who I saw this morning. I wasn't expecting much, after the Respiratory consultant had rejected my request for monitoring, but I had a better outcome with the oncologist.

He is arranging a new CT scan with contrast dye so we know the current situation, and as my primary tumour has shrunk so much, and I feel so well, he doubts there will be a problem with secondary cancers, but we need to know for sure. He thinks if I remain as well as I am now that I can receive chemotherapy, but I won't get my hopes up at this stage. I'll wait for the results of the scan and keep my fingers crossed, but I feel MUCH more hopeful now.

Thanks for the support everyone and I hope everyone receives some good news today.

Morning ginkgo,

So pleased you had a good meeting with your oncologist and that they are scanning you and can see how much better you are feeling. I hope you continue to feel well and the scan reflects how you feel.

Best wishes.
