Dear Red58

Sorry you are feeling dizzy and weak you need to let your doctor, oncology team or pharmacist know today/ promptly that you are feeling this way.

Do not stop your steroids suddenly or change the dose that is not prescribed.

Call your GP ,local pharmacist or lung cancer nurse specialist for advice or NHS 24 on 111

Hope you feel better soon.

After you report these side effects, and if you wish to discuss anything further you can email ask the nurse at lungcancerhelp@roycastle.org or call our free phone nurse led helpline number on 0800 358 7200 Monday to Thursday 0900-1700 and Friday 0900-1600

Kind regards

Hi red hope you are ok im on the same steroids but now I've been reduced to 2 a day I done it in stages like you but found I could manage better on 2 and stayed there the only downfall to these is putting on weight especially in the face. Side effects are normal but soon wear off just take it easy when you get up and sit a couple of minutes before you move. Get your blood pressure done to be on the safe side hope this helps take care xxx

Side effects are normal for steroids, however there are symptoms to be aware of that you need to seek medical attention/ inform the doctors immediately

blurred vision, dizziness or fainting, a fast, irregular, or pounding heartbeat, increased thirst or urination, irritability, or unusual tiredness or weakness.

The best advice is to discuss with your pharmacist or doctor.

Kind regards
