My handsome Neil lost his fight against this vile disease on August 12th. His oncologist was still actively treating him so we had hope of being given extra time right to the very end but sadly it wasn't to be.

I would like to wish each and every one of you good outcomes on your own journeys. Make the most of every day. Enjoy even the very simple things like holding hands when watching tv or just watching the stars in the night sky.

At his life celebration we will be asking people to make a donation to the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. One day this won't be such a fearful terrible disease.

Dear Netty

So sorry for your loss and how right you are to say to all of us, enjoy each day and the simple things in it. It is a horrible disease and hopefully before too long they will find a cure. Thinking of you and sending love.

So sorry to hear this, my mum lost her battle on 24th July- so unexpected it was on her wedding day. She had just finished a round of radiotherapy and had an appointment with her oncologist planned for the week after. Hope your keeping ok xx

Steph I'm so sad to read that you lost your mum - and on her wedding day too. Life is so unfair and this disgusting disease just tramples on our loved ones. I've been finding finding it quite difficult to get my head around the fact that my husbands oncologist was treating him and sending him for gamma knife treatment only to have him deteriorate ao quickly. It just doesn't seem fair at all. The only good thing is that he had hope of a longer life and better quality of life right to the end. God bless everyone who fights this disease. One day there will be and cure even for advanced disease

So sorry to hear you lost Neil too soon. I hope you have some memories of the good times you shared to see you through this awful period. Hope you have good friend and families around to support you, but you know we are here if we can listen or help in anyway. Thank you so much of thinking about the Foundation and the forum and we will be thinking of you.

Stephen and K, thinking of you both.

best wishes

Lorraine
