Dear Betty68

Some cancer treatments as you know can deplete the platelet count, which can sometimes resolve with a pause from treatment, the platelet count may increase naturally in the next week or two.

Have a chat to your lung cancer nurse specialist or the treatment team. Your blood will be rechecked before commencing any further treatment, it is quite common to have low platelets during treatment and can be well managed with the medical team.

If you would like to discuss anything you can either email us at lungcancerhelp@roycastle.org or call our free phone nurse led helpline number on 0800 358 7200

Kind regards
