Hello I'm recovering from lung cancer having had the upper lobe of my right lung and some lymph nodes removed. I have already had chemotherapy and radiotherapy for lymphoma and am waiting to see what further treatment may be decided upon. My problem at the moment is sickness and diarrhoea which leaves me shattered. Any advice gratefully received.

Hi there, your cancer nurse or your doctor should be able to prescribe you tablets for this.

I remember I had sickness tablets for a fairly long time after my op and chemo

Thank you for your reply, I'm intending to ring the lung nurse tomorrow. I finished my chemo September last year radio therapy January this year and the lung opp August this year so it's early days yet I guess

Hi, I had upper lobe left lung and lymph nodes removed. I suffered a lot of sickness and it turned out to be Co-codamol I was taking.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Jan x

Hi Jan_m Co-codamol does the same to me so I'm on Paracetamol and Oxycodone I think it could be the latter that's the cause

Hi Gangang

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear of your recent illness. jillygirl and jan_m have given good responses, and the oxycodone has side effects of nausea, vomiting and sometimes diarrohea, so this may be attributing to your symptoms.

I believe you are contacting the lung specialist nurse today, if you wish to discuss anything you can call us on our free nurse led helpline number on 0800 358 7200

All the best

Just an update. I spoke with the lung nurse and received good advice and a suggestion that I ring my Dr. Well the outcome is my Dr put me on to Tramadole and things seem to be improving. Thanks to all who replied, it's good to talk to others.
