Hello all
If anyone is interested please contact me lorraine.dallas@roycastle.org regarding getting involved in this one.
My name is Andrew Abbott, I am TV producer and director, and I’m making a new BBC Scotland series about the Beatson hospital.
The Roy Castle Foundation has kindly offered to help spread the word about our series – and to invite anyone who might be interested in taking part to get in touch.
We are making three one-hour films. One will focus on lung cancer – so we are looking for patients who would be willing to share their stories, and potentially allowing us to film them and their families as they undergo treatment.
Our goal is to create a series that shows viewers what it is really like to be diagnosed with cancer, to be treated for it, and to live with it.
This will involve capturing the ups – and some of the downs as well. We can’t shy away from the seriousness of the disease and its terrible impact.
But we also want to show that there is hope. More people are being cured, people are surviving longer, and new treatments are being introduced.
And we want to show the incredible work being done by Scotland’s cancer doctors, nurses and support charities.
Our main focus is the Beatson – but if you are being treated elsewhere as well we’d still love to hear from you.
So if you or anyone you know would like to find out more about our project – with absolutely no obligation to take it any further – please do get in touch. We’re happy to chat on the phone or meet in person to introduce ourselves.
