Gone to brain ...

Havent posted for a while but thought i should..coming to the end of my first chemo (6 sessions) have had no sickness at all.

Tumour in my lung has reduced by 50% and its all gone from my lymph nodes .. however theyve just found a tiny tumour on my brain which they are going to get rid of with radiotherapy,

im just rather terrified as the consultant basically told me more would appear.

anyone any advice or experience ...

Hi EvaSamantha

Good to hear you have been well on chemotherapy and that your nodes are clear.

Sorry to hear the worry caused by the discovery of the tumour on your brain.

We do have some information about brain metastasis in our Answering Your Questions pack and more on treatment in our Radiotherapy booklet. These are available on our website roycastle.org or by calling our Freephone helpline 0333 323 7200 option 2.

Treatment can help shrink tumours and slow or prevent further tumours developing. Hopefully your consultant will be able to talk to you about this, as you suggested it can be a lot to deal with, so it may be worth taking someone with you to the appointment.

Do let us know what the plan is and give us a call if you want copies of the written information,

best wishes

Hi sorry to hear that , I have lung cancer stage 4 , two months ago I got diagnosed with three brain tumours . Got sent to queen Elizabeth hospital so they could use cyberknife . Had another scan and told I have eight tumours so can't have cyberknife, sent to Cheltenham hospital they going to fry whole brain had a mask made and another scan then told they will phone me to give appointments, that was Friday it's now the weekend so earliest they going to phone will be perhaps Monday , our worry is its already gone from three to eight, if they leave it any longer it could be sixteen or more ,
