I just wanted to thank all of you that helped us through this past year or so. My husband Kevin sadly passed away in August. He'd been on Iressa for 7 months and with it shrinking the tumours he was able to get back to doing the work he loved. The Iressa stopped working in May and his health deteriorated gradually from then. This site was a huge encouragement to us both, sharing our journey and experiences with others. It would be great if we can increase awareness and improve early detection of lung cancer. My husband was a fit non smoker and I do feel that because he looked well his symptoms were not taken seriously until the cancer was too far progressed. Adenocarcinoma in non smokers is increasing but the cause is unknown. I hope that through organisations like this we can raise awareness.

Sandra, I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Kevin. It's at times like this that I count my blessings and I am 3 years on from my surgery with no further signs of this awful disease. We must all try and raise awareness about Lung Cancer whether smokers or not. If only people really knew what we all go through, both patients and carers, then hopefully cases would reduce dramatically. Once again my sincerest condolences to you and your family.
Hi Sandra, sorry to hear about your loss. I am like rabbie oneof the lucky ones who have survived . Cancer is a cruel illness, but with people like you we can fight back. You take care of yourself. Xx
We are so sorry to hear of Kevin's death and our condolences go to you and your family. I hope you are getting the care and support you need just now.
Thank you for your kind words on the benefits of this community, we do want it to be a helpful resource. Your comments on awareness are relevant as we approach Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation will continue to build public awareness, but we know it is a tough task. The support of this community in campaigning and supporting awareness really does help,
