Unusually high level of b12

Hello

Has anyone had high level of b12 of 6000 when being diagnosed with lung cancer? I have previously had liver cancer and my level of b12 at that time was 2000 which is high but I have done a recent blood test done which shows I am way above range 6000ng/L ? Anyone experience high levels of b12 and know if it is a cause for concern? My doctors have been useless and say everything is always fine however I have been extremely tired all the time so I cannot understand how I have so much b12. I do not take any supplements and ofcourse and I’m worried as I know it’s stored in your liver. Please let me know if anyone has experience this before or know what it means?

If this was happening to me, I would meet with the oncology nutritionist. If the oncology department doesn’t have one then I would seek out the hospital nutritionist.

The fatigue bothers me though. It’s counter intuitive to think B12 would cause fatigue as it’s given to treat fatigue. But I am not a doctor or a nutritionist. I would be very interested in hearing what you learn from a nutritionist.

Hello DenzieYes I agree I would have thought if I have very high b12 in my body’ that I would be fully of enjoy not completely exhausted all the time. My gp doesn’t think it’s a concern but I am going to wait for the mdt on Wednesday to give me there conclusion and mention it to them. See what they say! X
