A major dip on this cancer roller coaster ...

This afternoon, unfortunately, I hit one of those rapid dips on this cancer roller coaster ... I received an email got my blood to boil ... The subject nor content of the email itself wasn't actually negative but did provoke the resurfacing of my anger with this Covid-19 virus and the impact on society it has had ... Please let me explain ... In January, when I was diagnosed with the cancer, I made a promise to myself to buy season tickets to the 2020 season of The Muny in Forest Park ... But then the Covid-19 virus wipe out the 2020 season ... Probably the vast majority of ya'all will wonder what is The Muny in Forest Park ... It's outdoor theater operation that produces 8 to 10 Broadway level musical productions each year ... In fact The Muny is the oldest outdoor musical theater in the US ... This year is/was it's 103 year old anniversary, being established in 1917 ... It is also the largest outdoor theater with 11,000 permanent seats of which 1,500 are free seats for every performance ... For anyone curious about the Muny, in can be found on youtube.com including many short clips of shows from various seasons.

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent here...It has really helped .. I hope they will be able to put on the 2021 season but it's iffy at this point ... I hope I live long enough to the productions.

PS: I've attached an aerial view of The Muny just to share.

Roy

think positve, they WILL have a season next year, and you WILL be able to go to every play.

Sending hope that the next season it is allowed to remain open. Hope, too, that you remain well and active so you can attend!

yes, it's been a challenge for so many of us in not being able to do many of the things we love under normal circumstances - and the cancer diagnosis and our approach to that can amplify our frustration with that. it's good they have YouTube videos - does watching these help or add to your frustration? live performances of any type have gone in the UK although a few outdoor productions were put on in farmers' fields in the summer in some places but now the weather turned. Performers, stage production crew, set designers, , sound and lighting technicians etc all have no work and no income and very little financial support. I think we're all hoping that culture whether it's theatre, music, museums or other forms might be allowed access even remotely with filmed experiences for us to share as sports fans have enjoyed since the pandemic. I guess the sooner the virus is controlled which will take herculean effort by all the people everywhere, as well as treatments found, the sooner we might be out of these very challenging times.... anger and frustration can be channelled into energy to find a way to do things so hope you find a way to enjoy the things you love in a different way .... good luck
