Update on Keytruda treatment

Hello there,

So mum got her letter from the oncologist appointment finally and it explains in black and white her situation. I have a few queries...

Her original biospy results were ALK: Negative, PDL1 3%, EGFR and ROS 1 are still awaited.

Are we therefore awaiting results of the biospy still?! It was done back in July!

Mum has been doing well on Keytruda. Really well infact. She's had no side effects so far and feels great. I must admit I was a little disheartened to see her PDL1 was 3% but, I guess we're fortunate that she is a candidate for this treatment and if it's offered then it must work in some cases with a lower PDL.

Mum keeps fretting about the situation if this treatment doesn't work. We've not had a single positive appoitment with the Oncologist yet. Her counsellor and nurse said there are other treatment options but to remain positive. It's hard though.

In the write up about the chemo not working, it says the primary lung has increased in size and lymph nodes are more prominent. I guess we could be in a worse situation as although it has grown it's not spread anywhere else... I really hope we get some positive news so it makes battling this horrid disease a little easier.

I hope you are all looking forward to Christmas and 2020.

x

Keytruda has been know to work in some with <1% pdl1. How many treatments has she had with it so far?

Hi there! Any news when the ROS1 and EGFR results will be available. That would really be important to know. Best of luck for a long life!
