Hello All, Diagnosed in November 11 2016 with SCLC Stage 4 Extensive Left Lung, lymph nodes, three sections of my liver 3,5,8 and spot on T-7 in my spine. After four rounds of Chemo and a bag and 1/2 of an immunotherapy drug I have been declared no evidence of detectable disease. I have a Brain MRI on the 28 of April and meet with my oncologist on May 1 2017. I will have a CT Scan every three months from now on. I believe what little of the immunotherapy drug I receive reprogram my cancer fighting cells. These are my thoughts only. I happy to be here and hope to see more progression for SCLC which is lacking in research and movement for the last 30 years. I believe all our cancers are different and need to be treated in this matter and targeted in this manner as well. Thank you Kym

Kym105, Great news on the NED and good luck with the MRI. Agreed all cancers are different & should be treated that way!

What wonderful news. Here's hoping your brain mri is negative. So happy you have had such good results from your treatment.

Kym,

Fantastic news that you have had such a great response to treatment! Agreed that there needs to be more done for SCLC. I was at a lung cancer event last week that included a research update, and heard that Rova-T may be on track for FDA approval for SCLC after a phase 1 study - almost unheard of for a treatment to get approved so quickly.

Oh Kym, what wonderful news. Thank you and congratulations. Best of luck with the MRI. And yes, SCLC needs more attention! Come on research - do your magic!

Kym,

It's wonderful to read about results like yours. I hope that the MRI results are just as unremarkable as the CT scan.

FWIW, I agree with you whole heartedly about the investment in sclc treatments.

A year before the launch of the Moonshot Program, Obama announced an increase in research funds that was supposed to bring parity to lesser studied cancers. Sclc was one of those specifically cited. We'll have to watch to see what happens to that with the new research funding cuts expected.
