Hi, I was diagnosed with small cell limited carcinoma back in July of 2012, I was treated with 2 different chemos and radiation at the same time ,My treatment was aggressive , and definitely not a walk in the park, but I am still here, I make the 5 year mark in Jan 2018 . Hang in there if you are being treated, There is always hope.

Welcome to the FtB boards! Five years is a major milestone. Sending hope that you enjoy 5x five more years if you can. There are not enough of you around.
dmacdo9,
Welcome! Sounds like you walked a very rough road, but I am so, so happy that you are coming up to your 5 year mark!!!!! Yippee!
And, yes, hope is priceless.
domacdo9 That is so weird I will make my five year mark in oct. 2018. Thats what I tell everyone. Keep hoping because miracles do happen. I had adenocarcinoma stage three they removed upper lobe left lung was supposed to do radiation but turned it down. Had six months chemo starting in to my fourth year no sign of cancer. Was told I would make my five year mark. Sorry talk too much. I'm so happy for you. Jo Taylor

Hi dmacdo,
Congrats on the 5 year mark, and congrats on making it thru the treatment. I'm in the middle of that same regiment and it's hard at times.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us,
RW
Hang in there , the key is to stay hydrated ask for I V , if you don't feel you have enough fluids
I used to go to bed at night saying "Cancer get out of my body" I had read a long time ago in Readers digest ,that a lady did that.I dont know if it helped ,but when you have cancer ,I think a lil ritual isnt going to hurt.Hang in RW Hayes it eventually will get better, keep hydrated
I was on cisplatin and something else 2 different chemos, 3 days on 19 days off, radiation at the same time 33 days , it never bothered my throat 4 years ago but ,right now I have a web across my vocal cords that can be caused radiation or acid reflex, I doubt it was the radiation ,just under my shoulder blade hurts every so often when I exert myself,I blame the radiation for that
Hang in RW , it seems like a long trip and you will have your low points , I did ,and my doctor brought me right back up from them , its hard ,but please stick with it it and stay hydrated ,thats important. I am pulling for you , you will join the survivors
