So, today we had the ct scans for my dad. The results were that his tumor in lung has shrunk considerably, however it's not 100% gone. His cancer has not spread anywhere else in his body, which is great news.
His oncologist recommended radiation therapy to his chest, and a lower dose to his brain ( for preventive measures for the future). Although I would have loved to hear that there is no sign of cancer, we are blessed for the news we did receive today- and that radiation is something he can get! I'm hoping this radiation goes well. I can say that my prayers were answered today. 🙏 I'm staying optimistic and having faith we can put this cancer at bay for a while.

That's brilliant news Lesley, I to had great news last week that my tumour on the lung had shrunk considerably they weren't to sure if the shadow still there was a scar but I will have another scan in Feb to see if any changes I am feeling great at the moment hope your dad is too.
I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. Yeppers.......all is GREAT! Clear PET scan - 4 Years NED! Our GOD is an awesome GOD! I pray all continues to go well with your dad.
It sounds like the news was great. I'm not sure I would want the radiation of the brain if there are no signs of cancer at this time. Radiation can scar the area and if so, he would never be able to receive radiation to that area again. I would question the doctor on that decision but maybe you've already covered it. It just seems odd that they would give him radiation where no cancer exists. I'm not a doctor but I would question it. Good luck.
That's great news for your dad and for the whole family. You've got a lot to celebrate this holiday season. Wishing your dad success with the radiation treatments.
