Gaines,
What a kind face you have, and great smile! Thank you for reaching out and for sharing. I am so sorry for all that you have faced and are facing now. I am glad to hear that you have chosen a doctor that is fighting along your side and giving you options for continued care. Make sure you aren't shy about sharing any symptoms you have too, as you go along, so they can help with that as quickly as possible. Are you going forward with the immunotherapy?
Please know we are all thinking about you and want to hear how you are doing, and what path you are following.
Caring hugs.
Thank you! I'm on a Fentenol Patch 50 mg every 72 hrs also 15 mg Morphine 2 tabs every 3 hrs. Also Steroids to keep pressure off my brain. Pain is horrible. Passing lil urine & bm. I feel pressure in my brain & anger issues.
We are walking the same walk and I am so sorry because I know personally how hard it is. All i can do is pray for you that you and I both find peace. They say suffering brings us closer to Christ, so I am sure he is right there with you. The one blessing I have found is all the love and care my family and friends have shown. Cancer just plain sucks, and it sucks that at 49 you are spending the time you should be enjoying your life, fighting for life. I am 56. I hope you have a good support system. May God bless and keep you and be your anchor through out the storm.
Gaines,
I was in a similar situation as you only not to the degree you are affected. I am on my 2nd clinical trial, using 2 different immunotherapy drugs. It is just amazing in comparison to chemo ! I hope you will give the immunotherapy a try. Its not over till its over! I'll be rooting for you!!
Kim

I'm really rooting for you!💕💜💕

Keep that up and try what the dr. wants to do. I'm going to tell you to be strong. Try not to be afraid likyoue I said there's nothing wrong with being afraid we all are at some points in the life we are living now. I want you to know you have a guardian angel that is there with you, watching over you and she'll be there when you really need her. I'm here if you need someone to talk to. Thank you so much. I'm a fighter, to keep living. I pray for all of us. I enjoy reading from each one of yalls positivity to keep fighting for your life. God has us all in his hands. Guardian Angel, yes with me all the way.
Thank you for your support. I'm barely eating or drinking. I just don't have an appetite. Radation killed my taste buds. Try eating & I get sick. I drink Boost, Insure etc but that's about it.
Sorry to hear this! Please if you know Jesus as Lord, you a place in heaven when you pass from this life to the next.If you do not know Him,then please makes your goal before death.I would say this is more important now then any more treatments will do for you. Please do not be upset with me,I care about where you will spend eternity !
Yes I'm right with God. He has a place for me soon. We pray constantly. I was smoking cannibas it help with my apitite & pain & all around handling this. Dr told me to quit or I can't do clinical trials. I felt like that is the poorest choice they could ever make for a dying person
GainesH Hope u get the treatment I will be praying for u
Hi Gaines,
I, too am moved by your post. You are garnering support and that is of great benefit. Despite the dismal statistics, people are responding to these new drugs and living longer, so DON'T be focused on old data. Each year I live, I am so grateful, because initial prognosis was 12-18 months. BE STRONG!
I also am a Stage 4 lung cancer for the past 5 years. The book Roberta recommended was one I read after my Stage 1 metastasized to Stage 4 a year later. It is full of excellent advice and incorporating any changes can only be beneficial to you. The basic premise is "Improving your terrain", so any positive changes will strengthen you. I have switched to mostly a plant based diet with as much organic foods as possible. Clean food allows your immune system to deal with other issues...like cancer and infections. I fuel my body to perform at it's peak. Each day I purpose to keep doing good things for myself and it gets easier over time. Choose life and believe you will be a great responder.
Best hopes,
Sharon
in my opinion you should seek out clinical trials & hopefully your tumor has been sent to check for specific mutations or even liquid biopsy
Apricot seeds I take. I have stage four lung cancer n I have scans i3 days. I have been taking apricot seeds, zinc, multivitamin and vitamin c. They only gave me two years to live. I made it 4 yrs so far but it hurts sometimes. I also do exercise. A healthy diet. I hope some of this helps. I figured hey why not try what could it hurt. Prayer's for you.
Roberta,
I stumbled upon this site a couple of days ago. I cant find a support group in my area so i went onto the internet and found you all. i would like you to know i went out and bought the book yesterday. I researched the food aspect of it before i even started my first chemo treatment. Just completed my third treatment. I will share my story soon. Reading some of the stories here has brought me comfort. I was too (still am) scared and overwhelmed. I feel i have hope now!
This is Teddys wife Lisa Huson. I just wanted to let everyone know that Teddy past away at home with me last Thursday. He had a really rough last wk. He is pain free now. I miss him so much.
Hi Lisa, Im sending you some cyber hugs from Australia, I am very saddened to hear your loss Lisa and I know words can't help much at a time like this but, take strength in knowing that Teddy has no more pain and suffering. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Oh, Lisa. I am just so very, very sorry. He seemed such a sweet man, and you a great advocate and caregiver. Words just don't cover the loss you feel, I recognize that, but please know I am sorry for your pain, sorry he isn't next to you in the physical sense, sorry he suffered, sorry you suffered...and suffer still. Gather those you love close to you, allow yourself to grieve, to laugh at memories, to cry, to remember. You'll need help to do all of that. I hope you have good support. Caring hugs and call or email me anytime pbezruki@freetobreathe.org 844.8335.4325 or 608.828.8847.
Thank you so much! My heart is just broken. There's only 1 true love in this world. Teddy was my true love. We dated 17 yrs ago but went our separate ways. We found each other again and married on his birthday last yr February 24th 2015. He never dated or was with another woman. He loved me that much. I told him God put us back together to give him his love & peace back in his heart before taking him home. I'm so lost without him. We have 8 grown kids & 10 grandkids & 1 on the way. Plenty love & support, thank God. Hugs to everyone battling this.
Lisa,
I am so grateful that you and your husband had that time. Does sound like a really beautiful love you shared. Hang on to the kids and grandkids, they'll help you feel close to him. And you can all share your memories and feelings...
It is obvious that your love carried him through this difficult time. Praying that peace comes to all of you. Peace and healing.
Thank you so much! Hugs!
Dear Lisa - So very sad and sorry to hear that Teddy passed -- it's such a devastating illness and takes far too many. I'm also battling stage IV NSCLC and hope every day for new treatment options and a cure. He sounds like a great guy and certainly was far too young to die...! My heartfelt sympathy to you and all of his family and friends... ! Please take care....
~ Lisa
My prayers are for you daily as well as all these others on here battling this demon disease. I want a cure & I want it now! I pour my heart out to God to please save yall. I lost my mother, my aunt, my grandma, my dad, fiancée in 2004 & now my husband. 1,000s are lost daily. God please heal them. Prayers & hugs to you. I will support all of you. Everyone needs a hand, shoulder, voice, positivity, God, prayers and all the love they can get. Hugs to you
Hi Lisa,
I completely know & understand how you feel. My daddy was diagnosed with stage 4 on 13 of October 2016 and he could just live for 4 months after that. His symptoms were few initially which included cough and back pain but later grew worse.
Stage 4 lung cancer is like..God telling us to pack up and come back home. My dad was aged and he preferred not to go for treatment as he was a heart patient already. He didn't fear death at any moment.
Life is like that all of us will someday or the other die. Unfortunately cancer struck my dad down. I just wanted to tell you that just cherish the moments you had together and we have a great hope of meeting in heaven. Someday i hope this world finds a cure for cancer so that people cant suffer like this.
Love,Sue
I think you should give the immunotherapy a chance. I hear it has given other people quality of life and more time.
God bless you, you're a brave sole. , stay positive and upbeat, (helps the immune system) like that smile you have.
What's the name of this book everyone is talking about? let me know.
