DLT therapy

I have been offered DLT at St George’s which I am keen to have and very grateful for! However my assessment appointment isn’t until 7th June, so goodness knows when the therapy will start, and I live over 2 hours away from the hospital so will have to stay in a hotel near there as I need to be in as an outpatient Mon to Thurs (for up to 3 weeks) and the consultant doesn’t want me travelling back and forth every day.

I very much intend to go ahead with this but in the meantime wondered if anyone knows of anyone who does DLT privately. It is something I might want to have again in the future or St George’s have said they communicate with a private therapist if I can find one to get it done locally. My usual MLD therapist doesn’t do DLT and it is hard to tell from the listings on MLD UK website who does what and what experience they have.

I live in Hertfordshire just North of London so would be good to be within an hour of home.

Hi Ernie - if you use the MLDUK website Therapists page, go to the top left of the page, where it says Map and Table - click on Table and scroll down the list to Hertfordshire - all the therapists listed in that county are DLT qualified and will be happy to liaise with St George’s.

Look for DLT next to therapist name to know they have the correct qualification

I've seen a a 'member DLT' therapist from the MLDUK webiste. Prior to making an appointment I called the therapist to discuss my needs and the treatments she offered. The therapist was very helpful throughout.

Have you checked MLDuk for therapists. Sue Levine North London is very experienced, works privately, easy parking.
