finding suitable trousers

I have primary lymphoedema in my left leg. I’m a size 12 but have a very large calf. I’m finding it impossible to find trousers that fit. I walk and play golf so flowing trousers aren’t suitable. Can anybody suggest a make/shop?

It’s so hard to find suitable trousers!

I have a great pair of cargo pants from M and S in the summer, which are great because they are wide enough without billowing and actually don’t cling to my compression garments.

But I think you have to try things on to find out. There’s no short cut.

I tend to go for bootcut trousers as they are slightly wider at the bottom. M&S or next are my go to shops.

Have you considered wearing golf shorts ? I wear a black flat knit garment with my longer shorts and I think it looks very athletic ! It sometimes feels more comfortable than having the added layer of a pant leg over my lymphie leg.

Saloos. All have an elasticated waist band and a couple of ties that are just a decoration, you could cut them off. But they are very roomy and comfortable to wear.

Hi Annie, I have the same problem and over the years have tried various brands with little success. I ended up taking my work trousers to the local Taylor who puts an insert in the seams to give me more room. Luckily for me, my boss agreed to pick up the bill as it was a requirement that I wear a suit or trousers and a jacket. At home I tend to wear stretch jeans and "big dude" have a good range of sizes /cuts that may help. (not sure if they have a women's section)I hope this helps you.

I have the same issue but right leg and for walking and causal ware I have found that Karrimore mens Panther Trousers (stretch material) sold in Sports Direct work for me if you don't mind wearing men's trousers.

May not suit, but I know how difficult it is to find fitting trousers and shoes. If you suffer from a swollen foot Cosyfeet are great, I don't know what I would do without them.
