I have a tale of caution when it comes to having garments in different colours.
I wear a flat knit stocking; started of with a certain beige colour and all was well.
Last year I had the same stocking in another shade of beige (mysterious as I hadn't requested a different colour) and the stocking was longer, looser and didn't control my swelling well. The measurements were checked and found to be correct but it came to light that the fabric composition was different. Unfortunately, despite considerable efforts to get the situation rectified, it ended up with me losing out on several months of stocking allowance and I've had to rely on old worn out stockings to get through.
I've just received some new stockings in my usual colour and thankfully they're what I'm used to and fit well.
