Hello my name is Annette

And I suffer from Lymphedema....in my left leg....I have a question? Is it normal to get white / red bumps on my leg? I have had Lymphedema for six years.....I’m asking because I have had skin cancer back in May.... on my right leg..... and I’m going for a skin screening tomorrow.... for the rest of my body.... I am a little nervous... that’s why I’m asking if it’s normal for

The bumps and does anyone else suffer from them....

Thank u for ur time ....

If you are going for screening then you will be in the right place to ask your question.

Hi Dojo, I get bumps and lumps of varying colours and density, it is adding to lifestyle rich tapestry! It seems once labelled lymphodaema everything you get is due to it!! Very little knowledge amongst our GPs so do take advantage of your appointment x

Pleased for your diagnosis. Lots of bits have changed on my lower body since developed lymphodaema and it used to cause anxiety. As I stated before my GP has had little education on this but he is receptive to LSN info. I watch and wait these days and take care of my skin like a demented loon x

Yes I believe it is possible to develop smallish type coloured lumps . I’m not an expert but I believe it happens when there’s damage to the skin which is why it’s incredibly important to keep the skin moisturised and in good condition so it doesn’t start to break down . I’ve had Lymohoedema for twenty four years and my left leg is very large in comparison to my right one . My skin condition however is still really good ( I also have very sensitive skin ) and I just have one small raised red bump on the front of my lower leg . It never seems to dissapear or get any larger . It’s good though that you are getting things checked out to make sure that there’s nothing to worry about and perhaps also talk to your Lymphoedema specialist about them as they should also be able to tell you if it’s your skin developing problems and if there’s anything you can do to stop it getting worse .
