Does anyone else develop tendinitis in their Achilles whilst wearing compression garment?

Last year I was faithfully wearing my compression stockings (knee-high) to control swelling but I was working three days in an active job. I developed tendinitis in both ankles. The physiotherapist is also a lymph specialist and she did a great job but it took three months to get me truly walking pain free again. We noticed the pattern that when I was active I shouldn’t wear the compressions as it aggravates the tendinitis and only wear them on sedative days to control the swellings. As summer is coming, which causes more swelling than normal, I’m puzzling this out again.

I get achilles tendonitis... fitflops help a lot and ice I also use a laser which helps. I am on my 3rd really bad bout. The physio I went to last time was great and gave me deep tissue massage and exercises...... it took about 9 weeks. I wear my compression every day all day which doesn't help but I play tennis and go to the gym... also walk the dog do need to keep it under control.

What is tendonitis I know I suffer was something going on in my buttocks on the nerve endings because I wear full length stockings and in the summer my bottom is so painful I think it's the nerve endings what is damaged and I have to put a hot water bottle on my bottom cheeks and once they get warm I don't have any pain but in the cold weather it is very painful period yes I'm dreading this hot weather if we ever get any because it does make our lymphedema a lot worse.

But please can you explain your symptoms and what is it

Achilles tendinitis is when the Achilles tendon, found at the back of the ankle, becomes irritated and inflamed.

I have seen this condition aggravated by compression garments in a few people, often when the garments were slipping and cutting in to the skin of the ankle joint. It was alleviated by having a silk piece inserted into the garment, over the affected part - plus an exercise regime incorporating stretching and strengthening of the tendon. Massage to the area too. Avoid heat packs, although ice packs may be beneficial.
