Hi I have treatment for leg lymphoedema at my local hospice but expect to be discharged shortly. I am wondering what will happen when I need replacement stockings - will I have to measure my legs myself

You should be called back every six months for remeasurement. The prescription will go through your GP (that’s what happens in our area).
You should never be discharged from a lymphodema clinic!
Many clinics do discharge patients. They do tell patients how to get their compression going forward (it varies) and will see you in the future if you don't remain stable (I believe all clinics do that bit but don't know 100%). The Lymphoedema Support Network lymphoedema.org has information that will help you (website and telephone helpline) - it is one of the issues they have been developing information on, as it is thought it will happen more and more.
My GP refused point blank to prescribe the stockings recommended by the clinic which she deemed too expensive. She ordered some cheap ones that weren’t measured for and were way too small. I asked to be referred back to the clinic so I could get the stockings from them but that was refused as well.
Hello to you all. I have just been diagnosed after over 30 years. Just wanted to say my local Boots chemist do my measurements and are excellent.
