The LSN has a few places available at our patient conference - the day is being held just outside of Birmingham on the 12th September. This all day event will feature talks from Professor Peter Mortimer and Professor Vaughan Keeley as well as consultant Kristiana Gordon and nurse specialist Denise Hardy as well as plenty of time to meet with others living with the condition. I have been to the Patient Conference in the past and it's a great day. Unfortunately not so easy to get to from Scotland as some of the other venues that have been used.

I was born in Erdington and know the YMCA well.

( Wonder if it's still the 64 bus from the city centre.)

I would like to go along but as I met my husband at Aston university, a lifetime ago, and he lived in a student flat next door to the YMCA I don't feel I'd cope as he died recently.

It will be a great session. If I were there I'd like to suggest a training session for patients becomes available.

There is so much to learn and both training modules for healthcare professionals have been well received I am certain something similar for patients would be useful too. Not everyone would want to undertake it but most patients I meet are very keen to learn as much as they can.

Sorry to suggest something that would take a lot of time and effort !
