Dry dry skin

Hey there!

I know a big pond separates most of us physically, so what you have access to, I may not, but I have noticed that my custom compression socks dry my skin out a lot. Does anyone else have that experience? My Lymphedema therapist siad not to use any lotions with perfumes etc, and suggested Eucerin. But just wondered if anyone had another lotion they like as well.

Also winter is finally ending here in Iowa. I am so nervous about managing the heat with my long socks. But will use the suggestions given previously. Thanks all!

Eucerin is good stuff. I know it comes in different forms. If there is a production the range that you can use to wash with - use it - then let the legs air dry, or pat them dry. Apply another layer before bed. Avoid applying lotion or creams before donning the garments.

If you have a bath, a good quality coconut oil can be used in it - and also as an emollient. It can also be used if you are cooking a stir fry!!

Ha ha. Maybe I could stir fry myself? Thanks for the advice. I tryto remember lotion at night, but usually just do am. I will try both. I am always so shocked at how dry my feet are when I take the socks off.

Like I said, avoid use of lotions/potions etc if you are going to be donning compression. It can induce folliculitis, and also, damages the fabric of the garment.

I use double bass. Every therapist I come across says it is the best you can get, so I feel lucky to be able to get it in the uk

eucerin is a very good choice don't know where you live.. I wear compression stockings all year round and generally either cold or hot weather I am inside between 10 am to 4 pm... when most hot during the day..... good luck. moving back to Fl (central)

I will deal with the weather and act accordingly..... elevating leg when home and doing all I can to maintain maintenance without fear or worry.. I must wear the stockings all the time when upright. sitting down etc with legs elevated not as much I need a break too

Hi Gabbi,i use ZERODOUBLE as prescibed by my GP.

I mix in lavender essential oil which makes it smell lovely, and hopefully adds a little anti bacterial element!

I hear lemongrass and balsam fir are two other essential oils which are good for lympho but havent tried them yet. Apparently good for the circulatory support of the lymphatic system X
