Terrible District nurses

Hello,

My mum has lymphoedema, her leg has been bandaged by district nurses for a while as it got cut by her compression stockings and I have got to say they are terrible. At one point they didn't turn up with any dressing and asked her to use a pillow case for dressings. Does anyone know the number or email to complain about district nurses behaviour?

Your local area CCG and also the practice manager at whichever unit they are working from.

you could try complaining to either your GP or try PALS

Hi,

As Lynora said you can contact your GP surgery and follow their complaints procedure.

Where are you in the UK by the way ?

Take your complaint to the Royal college of nursing with copies to your GP and NHS. This is outrageous and disrespectful treatment.

Please be very careful with dressings on cuts. Lymph fluid from wounds left in contact with skin may corrode healthy tissue making problem worse. Bless the district nurses but they may not have this knowledge so maybe buy some of your own dressings to. Take the fluid away from skin and not be able to return. I suggest a mepore. If no leaking fluid this is not a worry but I am a paranoid after the wrong dressings were used in me leaving my whole lower legs open wounds for months

find a trained therapist many ways to find good bandaging.... if a person is not trained don't go to them and try to learn so you can wrap your mom if she can't

complaining often does not help
