Hi all I have been on here with my news on my ongoing troubles with my right arm. I have secondary lymphoedema ,had problems with cellulitis on and off and arm pain which got worse this summer.Anyway first of all GP said it was frozen shoulder then physio said no it was not,I have exercises to do but there is one in particular I just cant manage.I went back to my GP and he has referred me to the hospital for xray and ultrasound he thinks it could be late onset radiation fibrosis (9 years on). I await my appointment ,has anyone else been down this road please? I always thought my lymphoedema was because they took 13 lymph nodes away and I was just unlucky, but I have now learnt that it was the radiation I had. What do you all think? Thanks
Arm Pain: Hi all I have been on here with my news on my... - LSN
Arm Pain
Lymphoedema can be caused by radiotherapy - but it won't have helped that lymph nodes were removed - sort of a double whammy.
Have you ever had manual lymph drainage? It may be worth a try - I found it helped a lot when I had fibrosis in my chest following radiotherapy.
Hi Lynora yes I have had MLD I see my L. nurse about every 3 months it was her who told me to see my GP about my arm pain. Is your fibrosis late onset?
Thanks for your help.
Hi, I have lymphedema in my right arm also, I also have radiation fibrosis, along with 3 bouts of cellulites. They took all of my lymph nodes out because of breast cancer had spread to my nodes. I have had physical therapy because of the fibrosis for 6 months. So I know what you are dealing with. Under my arm pit and my right breast is very tight and painful. I have a compression pump that i use for an hour each night to try to work some of the tightness out of my chest and move the liquid from my arm.
