Hi just wanted to say my husband has one of those machines and it is been A life saver . We live in the US and purchased the machine through our insurance I really don't know how much they cost. He has been using it for the past three or four years when his legs come out they sometimes resemble wrinkled prunes. He generally uses it in the evening sits in a lounge chair with his feet and legs propped with a wedge pillow and puts the plastic leggings which are full length on each leg then attaches the leggings to the machine and switches it on. He usually stays in there for about an hour that seems to do the job best. Hope you can manage to secure one of these machines they really are good .

Hi Lycoming. I'm so happy to hear from someone that also is from the US. I live in Oregon. Hopefully we can stay in touch and learn more about care here as it seems not to be as good as in the UK. Is there a lymphedema clinic or care in your area? Nothing here but finally after years of neglect I'm getting some help. I currently have a huge flare up which is now cellulitis. Both legs but left is worse, covered in blisters. On antibiotics and increased diuretics. Sorry for the ramble but its the middle of the night lol. Hope to hear from you soon.

Oh my goodness. I just read the posts about studies for new drugs for lymphedem. I'm so excited to hear from so many people here in the US and all the help available. I had no idea.

Hi gramajane so sorry you are suffering it seems to me my husband has cellulitis almost once a month I know what you are going through right now he has blisters on the top of his 1 foot he is the one who on July 26 had a complete knee replacement is doing very well with that if you just weren't for the lymphedema . He sees a vascular surgeon regularly but to tell you the truth I'm not sure why he can do other than putting him on the anabiotic's . My husband is also taking a blood thinner for his a fib which really compromises his skin it's a double edge sword to be sure . Hope you managed not to end up in the hospital and for IV antibiotics . We live in Pennsylvania but it doesn't seem that there's much difference between the states and other than distance LOL Feel better soon

Oh I feel for you guys. I know the caregiver often has a just as rough time as the patient. I have so many health issues the cellulitis sometimes seems minor. I also have Afib and on Warfarin. I have finally attracted the attention of several doctors at the clinic so now Im finaly getting some action. Im having an ultra sound on my legs on Monday, has anyone else had one? I think to look for blod clots. I dont want to write a book tonight but would like to thank you for replying and hope we can continue the support.

Hi Gramjaneit sounds as though your physicians are trying to be proactive which is a good thing yes my husband had an ultrasound of his legs and some kind of die thing that they put through his legs as well almost wish something could come up but no same old thing. Hestarted with this whole mess the day after a successful hip replacement nobody can say for sure what happened perhaps the Surgeon accidentally nicked a lymph node-or perhaps his immune system is compromised guess we just have to keep working with it .for your sake I hope they find something they can help you with good luck .

Thanks. I recently got a system but havent used it yet due to a lot of weird circumstances, like being unexpectedly hospitalized in California for 17 terrible days. Thats not the system I have, but Dr says not to use it right now with all these blisters. Thanks again😊
