This is where they come to and they normally go to my toes, the clinic measure my legs and then order by the measurements from the sigvaris book.

Mine always go to start of toes also to stop swelling, it seems strange that your new ones don't x

Hi i dont have your brand but have had this style often in the past, the ones that go right down to cover most of toes are a diagonal fit and I think this has to be stated when ordering, maybe this is why??? Hope you are well xxx

Hi, mine normally do go to my toes as you can see my brown toes in my other post, they were ordered in the same way by my nurse but I have compared them to other ones which are longer on the foot and have a wider cuff, I'm stocking free until another pair is ordered x

It would not be the first time that wrong garments have been supplied with my armsleeves from Mediven. Never sure which 'end' gets it wrong!

The ones I have leave my toes sticking out and it is most annoying but guess it is either that or bandages. Why do they not give us toes in ones? Bandages are a nightmare and where oh where can you buy shoes or sandles in a EEEE-EEEEE fit under £30.00 or even under £25.00? I have tried JD Williams who use to have "shoe tailor" but now they sell all the expensive ones like Hotter's, Pavers, at around £65-130. Much too expensive for me, I have shoes but they do not fit because feet are all puffy and sore, so spend a lot of time walking about in bare feet. Well bare apart from toes, and they get cold so wrap a bandage round them to keep them warm.

How/where do you ladies go about finding shoes, sandles? I am at a total loss at finding anything within my price range and even if I could afford those from places I mentioned, would not buy them as some of them are so clumsey looking and not a bit women like.

It is time someone somewhere took people like us (including the gentlemen) into consideration when putting shoes in catalogues and other places at an affordable price. As some of them think that the black pedi adjustable ones (the ones that open flat) will do for both. It is not jolly well fair for either sex with lymphoedema.

Anybody in the U.S.A., Canada or elswhere have any decent shops or know where to get wider fitting shoes? Would be interested in knowing.

Thank you and hope the new garments will be better for you Bev-1966............xxxxxxxxxx

Hi Completely. I've noticed exactly the same thing, and was looking at JDWilliams only a few days ago! As soon as you try to look at anything slightly off-piste, or mention the word 'Ortho' - Lord help us - take out a mortgage! I need a size EEEE, so at present the only shoes I have which can be done up against the elements are plain, men's, black lace-ups - like old school shoes! They are also size 9's, whereas I used to take a 5, and from a sale at a shopping outlet (£35 - about my max)! As it's 'Summer' (I use the term loosely here in the UK), I've been trying to wear sandals with Velcro extender-straps, but my one ankle is so swollen that it pushes the heel-strap under my heel! It's a disgrace that companies cash-in on the infirm - I could become very political at this stage, but I won't bore you...?

It's time we had an Emoticom or gif. facility on here...? ;)

Good evening Hopalong, Thank the Lord someone is on the same wave length, planet as me. I agree with you whole heartedly, and would not be at all surprised if you were looking at the same time as me. I see they now tell you how many people are looking at the product and have bought in so many hours too. I ended up last time by getting a pair of mens sandles with velcro fastening (it is always velcro with me), like you feet are never the same as each other and they go through changes all flippin day. The ones I had are now in landfill planet now, my feet are in terrible condition, hard skin on big toes actually wore away the insole on them and my toes so sore. I either wear nothing on my feet or I have a pair of £1.99 crocs (mens) from B & M's. Great eh!

Your 100% right though should be a law so that clothes, footwear etc., and designs should be made for all shapes, sizes, and keep a decent price tag on things. I did see one pair and they were in the region of £150.00!!!! they were horrible, clumsey, black only, no colour choice at all in any of them. What are we all supposed to do? I know mens shoes are supposed to be wider but why should we have to have mens and vice versa? I was a size 6 now a 7 shoes EEEE/EEEEE, the rest of me does not count.

I am just at a loss of what to do anymore, hope we get some more replies or ideas, fingers crossed............xxxxxxxxx

Where are they Hopalong?

in reply tocompletely-zero654

You need to put them in as symbols : and ) etc. :)

I forgot about doing the Emoticoms this way! It's a lot easier, and there are loads of them: Hover your cursor over the bottom, right hand corner of your screen - you should get a task bar appear? There should be a small picture of a keypad? Click on it, and a keypad should appear on the bottom of your screen? On the bottom row, you will have: &123, then Ctrl, then :) ? Click on :) and you should get LOTS of Emoticoms - not just smilies, but animals, hearts,....

Good luck.

x 🙌

Is this yet another symptom of this damned thing?! I find that I'm sleeping more and more during the day, and thought it was because I need the loo at least 3 times a night!

When you wake up and (hopefully) feel more alive, we can try again if you wish? In the meantime.....

Sweet dreams. x

Hi Whisper, thank you will check their site out to see if I can find a pair. My feet will think it is their Birthday.

Have been everywhere to try and find something. You and everyone on here are lovely people just wish we could all get together one day. It is lovely being close on here though because there is always someone about to help and advise, just like you have.

Try and have a good weekend................xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hello Bev-1966, thanks for coming back to me, must admit although my toes are like burnt sausages I like the freedom of being able to wriggle them about. Know they are still there then. You have given me an idea though never considered flip flops, but on the other hand remembering as a kid the blisters that would come between my big toe and the one next to it where that bit of rubber goes, it rubbed so much caused a blister and bled. Took ages to heal. Dare not wear them anymore, it was a second of madness.

How on earth do you get on with them Bev? take it you mean the ones that go between your toes?

Thanks for letting me know that enclosed ones can be got, take care.......xxxx

Bev-1966 profile image
Bev-1966 in reply tocompletely-zero654

Hi, the flip flops I wear haven't got rubber between me toes i no which ones you mean but mine have material/cloth between my toes so you will have to see is you can find some like that xx

Afternoon Bev-1966, Not heard of them before will Google them as I only go out to see my doctor do not go anywhere anymore.

Was supposed to be having new flooring put in wet room today but when the chap took the old up it was absolutely soaking wet underneath, and there was no way the new anti slip flooring would have stuck. Also found a massive flying ants nest in the corner where my chair is in the shower area. Have sent an email to our council and kind of demanded they send an inspector out to investigate. How on earth I am going to cope heaven knows, it was supposed to have been done and finished in 1 day.

I am about to give up nothing goes right and because of what has happened it has caused a very nasty smelly damp aroma throughout our 1 bed bungalow. I am scared stiff of getting another infection.

What a start to the week, hope your start was better than mine.................xx

Well girls, I'm getting my stocking problem sorted. Both my lymph nurses are on holiday so I contacted sigvaris myself and apparently there are 2 foot lengths and I got the wrong (short) ones so posted them of to them today and they are going to replace them for me with the long foot length 😉X
