Sigvaris: Hi everyone, who wears sigvaris stockings, I... - LSN
Sigvaris
Hi Bev... I wear Sigvaris Magic open toed tights and have done for about 20 years. A couple of years ago my order with them arrived and they came without the waist band elastic when I queried this they sent me some waist bands to thread into the space. Next order no waist band or slot to thread it through again I queried this but was told that is how they are manufacturing them now. I either have to turn the top over and make the appropriate space to thread my old elastic waist bands through. I have a choice wear them and they are constantly falling down { Nora Batty style ) or spend ages sewing the waist band to then slot elastic through. As I have arthritis in my thumbs a slightly laborious job. But I am happy with the actual tights so I guess I have to deal with it. !!!! Good Luck
This is ridiculous, actually outrageous ...why should you have to either put up with the tights falling down or have to stitch a waistband? is it not enough that one has lymphedema that requires properly fitting and comfortable compression. I had dealings with sigvaris a couple of years ago, never again. We deserve proper service. There is something so outmoded in the attitude of most of the compression manufacturers. We need to have a big say in what is being prescribed for us, a say in how the measurements are taken and subsequent ill fit should not be our responsibility. Bespoke or custom made means just that, a Laissez faire approach would not work in bespoke tailoring, we would also get to choose our materials, have a choice of colours and so on. The manufacturers of advanced sports wear should be brought in to teach some of the archaic compression manufacturers how to design and model to fit our compression needs.
