Hi I have just been talking to someone who has lymphedema in their legs and they have been using a vibropower plate to help reduce the swelling. Just wondering if anyone else on here has tried this and how they have got on with it?
vibropower plate: Hi I have just been talking to someone... - LSN
vibropower plate
If your Lymphodema is due to cancer DO NOT USE power plate, there is a slight chance if there's the minutest cancer cell in your body the power plate could 'wake it up' leaving you with a bigger problem than Lymphodema!!!
Hi Jenny
thank you for your reply. I am lucky in that I am a secondary sufferer due to an accident but many thanks for your advice it is worth knowing the potential risks for people in this situation.
If you know someone who has one, give it a go! It can be fun, but you may find it's not for you - there is no harm in trying.
It stimulates lymph drainage and venous return, and may make you giggle! It can relieve swelling, but should be used as part of a Lymphoedema management regime.
Hi Hazie, here in Bristol there is an Active Choices scheme which is the GP referral scheme for exercise, as your Lymphodema isn't cancer related it may be worth seeing if there's a similiar scheme in your area which would allow you to use a power plate without buying one
I have the big round vibrapower machine. I use it occasionally as it's good fun watching n feeling everything jiggling about...it has known side effects on lympoedema do you'd need to either Google it or check with your Dr.
Thank you all I will report back as to how I get on with this.
