I have an infection in my legs for sometime now I have taking anti biotics for almost 12 weeks.
I am due to go into hospital for some minor surgery and I will be having general anesthetic but will I be able to have this op or will It be put on hold until the infection in my legs clears?

When are you due to go in, and what sort of surgery are you having done - minor? Major? If you are going in for a pre-op assessment, the anaesthetist will probably discuss this with you. I know that some people have surgery even though they are taking anti-biotics, and stay on the regime for a few weeks afterwards. Are you a candidate for 'prophylatic anti-biotics' as in, life-long?
It will depend on the surgery, the urgency of needing it and up to the dr looking after you, some drs willproceed as you are covered by antibiotis but others may not. Good luck hope it all goes ahead ok,
Its surgery that I need to have I havce been on the waiting list ....just have to wait and see what they say I guess. Thank you for your good luck wishes
How do you feel about it? Do you want to go ahead if possible, or would you rather wait? It would be good if you can decide what you want to do before you see them.
