I have posted previously that I was down with viral infection 25 days ago. Fever, cough and then I started feeling pressure on my left lung at a specific place as if something was blocked and crazy shortness of breath. I am an anxiety and panic patient so everything exacerbated for me. I was diagnosed viral asthma. The dr prescribed two inhalers, salbo and fostair for a week. Everything felt more blocked at the left side. I visited the physician again and He gave me a cortisone shot and said my lungs sound so much better. Chest xray is clear and PRC test is clear too. Do you feel asthma at a specific side only? I just feel pressure and air not moving properly at the left side only. It feels better after I use my inhaler. How long does cortisone work? Is there any asthma of that kind? The dr says its post viral as long as the environment of our city is badly polluted and I'll be symptom free sooner and that I am panicking a lot more now. If its panic then why was I given the shot and why is he asking me to continue fostair inhaler? What kind of asthma is felt in one lung only? I am so confused.

Which country are you in. If you are in the UK I would urge you to ring a nurse on the asthma UK helpline on 0300 2225800.
